AIDN is the national body of the various State-based Defence & Industry Networks and has been formally nominated as the peak organisation to represent Defence SMEs to the Department of Defence and has been recognised also by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. In fact, AIDN is often called on to provide comment and input on major policy initiatives and issues relating to all levels of Defence procurement.
While AIDN works at representing the views of industry to the highest levels of the Defence Department and other Federal government bodies, the State Networks complement this strategy by contributing to national Defence Industry Policy through AIDN at the federal level and by focusing directly on State business activities and opportunities.
Each Australian State is represented by an AIDN State Group. The State Groups liaise extensively with AIDN National on issues of direct interest to State members.
