Minister Christophe Pyne meets with AIDN-Vic Executive Committee and Victorian SMEs
AIDN-Vic was pleased to welcome Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne to a meeting with key AIDN-Vic Executive Committee members and a representative of the Victorian Defence Alliance chairs. This meeting was followed by a reception, kindly hosted and supported by KPMG, where around 150 Victorian SMEs had the opportunity to meet with the Minister and his staff. Victorian Defence Alliances
AIDN-Vic has established five VDAs, one for Aerospace, Digital, Land Systems, Maritime and Submarines.

Victorian Defence Alliance - Land Systems (VDA-LS)

This Alliance was established in September 2011 and has approximately 80 member companies. The Alliance puts on networking events relevant to the Land Systems projects.

During the Land Forces Conference & Exhibition in September 2016 and other key events, VDA-L will hand out their new capability directory, which contained ~ 80 members company information. These directories will be handed out to overseas companies as well as many defence related organisations. 

Victorian Defence Alliance - Maritime (VDA-M)

This Alliance was established in April 2012 and has approximately 70 member companies. The Alliance puts on networking events relevant to the Maritime projects. During the Pacific 2015 in October 2015, the VDA-M handed out their new capability directory, which contains 70 members company information. 

Victorian Defence Alliance - Submarines (VDA-S)

This Alliance was established in September 2014 and has approximately 65 member companies. The Alliance puts on networking events relevant to the Collins Submarine sustainment and upgrades and the SEA 1000 Future Submarine project. The VDA-S developed a new capability directory, containing memberís company information for Pacific 2015. This Alliance aims to bring together companies and organisations willing to collaborate on actions to improve their opportunities to win work in the current and future Australian submarine programs.


Victorian Defence Alliance - Aerospace (VDA-A)
This Alliance was established in March 2016 and has over 35 member companies. The VDAĖA assists member companies to win work in the domestic and international aerospace industry supply chains and in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft components. It promotes the capabilities of the sector and supports collaboration, partnering and teaming to build a highly capable aerospace industry in Victoria.

Victorian Defence Alliance - Digital (VDA-D)
This Alliance was established in March 2016 and has around 15 member companies. The VDA-D assists member companies to win work in the Defence digital domain and adjacent commercial markets. It promotes the defence digital capabilities of Victorian companies and advocates for business opportunities for local industry.
