AIDN NSW Member – Representing Standards Australia on ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard Requirements revision in Paris

As Quality Management and the Business Processes with Organisations’ Systems are critical to entry and sustaining customer contracts including Defence, Asset Management, Information Security etc, ISO has stood up a Working Group (WG28) to revise ISO 9001.

This ISO Management System Standard is embedded within Aerospace, Space, Defence (AS9100D); Land Doa Automotive (IATF 16949); Nuclear Safety (ISO 19443) etc.

With Defence seeking suppliers with such Quality certification, they have now ramped-up requirements and expectations under DISP and CASG contracts for Information Security (ISO 27001): Business Continuity (ISO 22301), Supply Chain Risk and Security (ISO 28001).

As with UK MoD and US initiative of NAVALEX, Quality System Certification along with Collaborative Business Relationships (ISO 44001) are welcomed for defence Primes to have and to work with their suppliers.

Standards Australia QR-008 QM & QA committee (ISO Mirror Committee) with the Commonwealth, is supporting a delegate to the ISO 9001 WG29 meeting fir continued revision in Paris 31/3 -4/4/2025 and subsequent remote meetings.

McLean Management Consultants’ Standards Australia QR-008 Committee has made many Comments. Managing Director Michael McLean looks forward to Paris and the Disposition under ISO Consensus Rules.
